Katherine Stewart-Jones Named Co-Honorary Chair!

December 23th 2020

We are proud to announce that for this different edition of the Gatineau Loppet, two honorary chairs of choice have been named!  Today we present you Katherine Stewart-Jones! Training with the Nakkertok Nordic cross-country ski club, she has represented Canada at the 2017 World Ski Championships in Finland where she finished 10th in the women’s 4 x 5 km relay. In 2019, again at the World Championships, Katherine Stewart-Jones chalked up a top-30 finish in the women’s 30-kilometre skate-ski mass start race. She has just been selected by Nordiq Canada to compete in Europe on FIS World Cup in 2021.

“I am very excited to be the co-honorary chair for this year’s virtual Gatineau Loppet event. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have grown up skiing in the Gatineau Park and to be a part of the amazing ski community of the Gatineau area. I am looking forward to sharing my love for skiing and the beautiful trails of the Gatineau Park with others through this virtual event. COVID-19 has brought so much disruption to people’s lives and spending time outside is the perfect way to stay safe, happy and healthy throughout the winter.” – Katherine Stewart-Jones
