November 30th 2020
Like most of you, we are following the evolution of the pandemic on a daily basis. Our priority remains the safety of our skiers and volunteers while respecting the guidelines of public health authorities.
As the City of Gatineau remains in the red zone, an “in-person” event is not possible at this time. Therefore, the launch of registration is postponed until January 4, 2021, and a decision concerning an “in-person” event will also be communicated by that date. We will take advantage of these extra weeks to continue working on the 2021 Gatineau Loppet, which will certainly be different, but amazing!
Whether an “in-person” event takes place or not, a virtual Gatineau Loppet will be held to allow athletes from around the world to participate in the 43rd edition. Additional details will be made available in the next few weeks and we promise that the Gatineau Loppet will bring challenges and fun to your winter!
Speaking of challenges, the Worldloppet invites you to complete 7 virtual races from 7 different countries in order to obtain the title of Virtual Racer. A perfect opportunity for you to train in order to be ready for our event!
In the meantime, we hope you took advantage of the first snow in our beautiful region to get your skis out!
